What Human Pup Play Has Given Me

human pup playToday my Master Pup Boss shared the post “What Are The Qualities Of A Sirius Pup“. Characters and traits he looks for in his pups. Today on the opposite side of the same coin, I wanted to share the amazing gifts human pup play has offered me.

Before I get going though, please review the video created by Sir.

For me human pup play has given me the most amazing space to explore, to engage my curiosity, to master my craft and to get my toes wet in the world of S&M and kink.

I have never been a “dive in head first” kind of pup. Heck it took 4 years from the purchase of my first leather dog mask before I was able to wear it in my first pup play session.

In my training as a pup Sir has created  a safe space where I have been encouraged to extend and explore.

Yes I have had freak outs, I’m sure we all have. When those sensations, natural anxieties can feel like they are building up I have had the strength, the fortified layers of training to fall back on to steady me.

Human pup play has taught me patience. Patience with myself, with my fellow pups and with the process. Sometimes I have wanted to rush ahead and Sir has simply said, “it’s all good pup”, “it will come”. Looking up at my Master I’ve been able to relax into that desire and understand that yes, there is a plan and I will understand it when I do.

Perhaps most importantly, my exploration of human pup play has taught me respect. Sure the respect for Sir is a given. He has gifted me with my training and I feel honoured for that gift. Respect however is much deeper and wider than this.

Sir has taught me respect for me gear, for the pack and for myself.

Though the simple act of polishing and caring for my pup play gear I have learned it’s value and role. Beautiful shiny rubber gear does not come of of the box like that. It takes dedication, love and time spent carefully polishing for that dedication to show in the glow of a shiny rubber catsuit.

That shine represent patience, dedication and love. That shine represents my pride in my pack and how we display our pride and passion for what we do. That shine represents the same process I have undergone in my training. My pride in being the Alpha of a pack I am so fucking proud of.

Gentle, caring loving attention. Each application coming on top of the previous.

Human pup play is not a toy that can be locked away between sessions. My exploration of my pup self has been a gradual consistent process. A little each day. My learning, my “sweat equity”, my pride. The care and love of my Master.

And for that shine I am eternally grateful. This shine is the gift that human pup play has bestowed on me.

Yours in pupdom…

Wilfred: Is Human Pup Play Becoming Mainstream?

human pup play wilfredHey pups! Today I was cruising around YouTube and discovered this freaking cool show “Wilfred”. I don’t know about you but the pic above has certainly got me reaching for the peanut butter jar! Could it be that human pup play is getting mainstream?

Check this brief video out!

I love it! Ok this pup has a bit of a secret admission to make… I find Wilfred freaking hot, as well as his mate… (Pssst, Wilfred’s ginger mate Adam was in my year at high school!)

Ok Ok so Wilfred is probably not that much about human pup play and more about a humanised dog. However it’s presented it’s freaking funny!

Check out the other Wilfred clips here on YouTube

Be warned this humour is *very* Aussie!

I dare you to watch them and not piss yourself laughing. I know I did.

Hugs and tugs.

My Journey Of Human Pup Play

The Joy Of Human Pup PlayHey there Pups. Today is a special day for me. Just nine months ago I started my journey in human pup play.

To be honest I was not sure of what to expect. I knew I was keen. I certainly understood that deep inside me was a human dog, a canine ready to engage the world, ready for “human pup play” as I had discovered.

While in my mind I was ready for this new experience, what I have learned is beyond my wildest dreams.

My Human Pup Play Learnings

For something as simple as “pretending to be a dog” the leaps and bounds I have grown are huge.

I’ve learned to trust. Trust in my master & handler, trust in my pup brothers and most importantly in myself. I feel safe, nurtured and yes even owned. I feel safe with my pack, I know I can express my animal side without worry of “human” repercussions. Living in a world of day to day “consequences” taking time for human pup play has opened the door to a peaceful paradise of dog and handler, training and animal headspace, of joy without regrets.

I’ve learned to view my world though a different set of eyes. Eyes while sitting on all fours encased in leather or rubber gear, eyes that encompass my canine soul, my masters pet. A soul that is simple without the complexity of human form. A world of my owner to whom I am collared, playing, caring, supporting. While part of my dog like drives are base, in reality it’s the mateship, the companionship, the animal trust and connection that brings me such joy.

I have to admit that human pup play has pushed my boundaries. I’ve explored in ways I never imagined. My mate, my companion, my handler has taught me well. I now know how I stand, especially when on all fours. I can woof, bark and howl to express my inner dog soul. I can sleep knowing my pack has my back. I can give and take when playing as I learn a new human pup  behavior.

I’ve learned honor, care, trust. For this I am grateful.

Sleep well pups.

My Favorite Pup Play Memories

Gpup Alpha My Favorite Pup Play MemoriesHey there Pups! Today Pup Cerberus asked a really interesting question that I wanted to answer. His question was: “What are your favorite pup experiences?”. For me pup play has been such a wonderful addition to my life I just wanted to share this quick video I made on my two favorite puppy play experiences.

My Favorite Pup Play Memories

As I mentioned in the video my two favorite pup play experiences have been the first time I met a human pup and my first introduction to pup play with my master.

Almost 7 years ago I attended Dore Alley a leather fair in San Francisco. During this visit there were a number of human dogs around including a pack of rubber dogs and a wonderful leather pup who I ended out chatting with for quite some time. Initially I was unsure how to approach so I talked to his master that I was missing my biopups back home and could I pat his dog?

Both the pup and his master were the most lovely guys and they were very kind to explain their lives and what pup play meant to them. I was so impressed at what great guys they were that my passion for human pup play was started!

It took quite a few years before I met my master however my first  pup play meeting is a memory I will always remember.

The Day I Was Collared

I was nervous. On meeting my master Pup Boss the first thing he had me do as a pup was to go into “present”. I had no idea what to do so I sat on all fours and leant my head against his belly. At this point he gently patted me on the head and scratched me behind my ear. I was in pup play heaven!

A bit later he laid out a leather puppy collar and instructed me that when I was ready to submit to his training I was to take the collar to him and he would place it on me. That moment was magical. I’m so happy I took the step to join the pup play brotherhood.

These are two of my most treasured pup play moments. Can I ask what are yours?

Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Hugs and tugs.

Is Human Pup Play Really Just About Being A Sub?

Human Pup Play Friend GpupHey there Pups! Recently I was sent a question from one of my mates who was interested my passion for human pup play. Not knowing much about puppy play he asked me how being a “human dog” was different to being a sub.

For me the puppy play and subbing a pretty much chalk and cheese.

How Is Human Pup Play Different From Being A Sub?

For me puppy play is about relase, relaxation and fun. While I’m still learning about pup space the times I’ve entered it it’s a great feeling where time is “now”. I don’t have to worry about the future or the past. It’s time to just enjoy sensations, smells and enjoy those primal feelings that have always made me feel that yes indeed I’m definitely some form of human dog…

Indeed there are some elements of submission: I follow my masters orders, I submit to allowing my mind to just sit and enjoy the pleasure of being in the present. To say that human pup play is all about being a sub really misses the sole of pup play that attracted me to it in the first place.

Of course this is just my opinion. My master, Pup Boss of Sirius Pups introduces the idea of pup space and other important characteristics he looks for in a human pup. Check out his post here:
What I Look For In A Pup

I know that like there are many different types of biopups in the world, so to is the range of human dogs. Today I thought it would be nice to hear from you. What are you thoughts on pup play? What attracted you to gear up and become an human pup?

Feel free to leave a comment below 🙂

Safety In Human Pup Play

Hey there Pups! Today I wanted to cover a pretty important topic for my pup play brothers: Safety. I was recently chatting with a master who was telling me he preferred to play with his pup when the pup was under the influence of substances. He said it made the pup easier to handle. This has me quite worried as human pup play can be rather intense and adding substances to the mix can make it down right dangerous.

Human Pup Play Safety

Human pup play can be both physically and emotionally demanding. There is a lot of trust involved in addition to physical activity and postures we are rarely due when in full human mode. My biggest concerns are that if a pup is under the influence he may miss important signals from his body of potential injury or fatigue. Even more worrying is that because most pups like to wear a mask, trainers may miss important signals of distress as they won’t be able to see the pup’s face.

Another mask related concern is that if a puppy was to suddenly become sick and vomit there is a risk of not being able to get the mask off quickly leading to choking or aspiration. These events do happen and when it does every second counts.

From a psychological perspective human pup play can be very demanding. While we understand that we can never completely lose contact with our human side, drugs could make this line blurry, confusing or even distressing. A distressed dog can be very agressive and unpredictable, imagine what a distressed, intoxicated human dog could be like!

As part of human pup play, in fact all s&m really there is a large amount of trust placed into the trainer or master to care for the pup. If a trainer is intoxicated there is a high risk of missing important signals, distress and both physical and psychological harm. I strongly suggest that pups never play with a master if they are intoxicated or under the influence of substances.

For the above mentioned reasons my pack, Sirius Pup, has a strict no drug policy. We take our safety seriously and want to help encourage the care and love of every person that enjoys human pup play. We love our puppy play and hope to be doing it for many years to come. Doesn’t everyone?

Hugs and tugs guys!

My Human Pup Play Introduction At Dore Alley

my first learning of human pup play

The Pup Who Introduced Me To Human Pup Play

Seven years ago on my first trip to Dore Alley street fare in San Francisco, I met my first human pup. While I had not yet discovered the idea of puppy play, there was something in meeting this pup that opened my heart and mind to the idea of me entering the world of human pup play.

To this day I am a little sad that I never got to know this wonderful pup, or his master’s name. Given the opportunity, I’d love shake his paw and gently scratch behind his ear as a thankyou for his kind introduction for me to puppy play.

Perhaps it’s the spirit of Dore Alley, with so many interesting people. Perhaps it was the fact that I was starting to miss my two beautiful bio pups that were far away in Australia. With just a little trepidation I approached this pup and his master and asked for permission to pet his pup.

His master was very kind and we chatted for some time about life as a pup and how as master he too had a pup life.

What I learned was that these guys were wonderful, caring, open and fun loving. Human pup play was simply an extension of that same joy of life.

I admit these two men, pups and gentlemen have lived with me in my mind for many years.

My First Step Towards Human Pup Play

Later that day I purchased my first leather puppy hood from one of the local leather stores. That magical moment of putting my hood on for the first time was amazing. The excitement and rush of knowing that I opening to my own exploration of human pup play.

It would be a number of years till I met my first master. Needless to say, I’m very glad I was patient, with the reward well beyond the wait.

More soon.

Gpup

BTW if you know the name of this pup I’d love to be able to say hello again. Pup, you changed my life and for that I am eternally grateful.
